Working with Donnay Homes was an enjoyable collaborative process. We chose to build our wonderful 2-story home from a model of Donnay’s design, but the house feels our custom project all the same due to working directly with Chad and the subcontractors to make sure details were just the right way we wanted them. Chad and his crews never said we couldn’t do something with the design of the house and they were always responsive with thoughts, advice, and opinions when requested.

My husband and I were introduced to Donnay Homes during the spring 2009 Parade of Homes. We were relocating from out of state, unfamiliar with home builders in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area, searching for someone to help us build the home of our dreams on a limited budget, as well as being first-time home buyers and builders.
After interviewing several local builders we chose Donnay Homes for the quality in workmanship, knowledgeable sales staff, and comfort level we experienced after meeting Chad Donnay.
Our experience working with Chad Donnay was extremely positivewe couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome of our new home! From procuring the lot through a short sale to designing the perfect custom home for us on a limited budget, our unique set of circumstances offered many challenges for Donnay Homes. Those challenges were met with enthusiasm and a can do spirit.
Chad was very personable, easy to work with, and as we progressed, thoroughly explained all steps of the home building process in easily understood terms. Chad allowed us plenty of time for material selections, honestly offered his opinion and gave suggestions along the way. When it came to answering our exhaustive list of questions Chad was always prompt in response and readily available, setting our minds at ease and ensuring we were completely comfortable with each step.
We were impressed with the high level of professionalism shown to us by the entire staff at Donnay Homes as well as suppliers and subcontractors along the way. We are extremely pleased with the quality in workmanship of our new home and the attention to detail. Every “T” was crossed and “I” dotted!

This was my wife's and my first home building experience and overall, we couldn't be more pleased we chose Donnay. We interviewed 6 builders during the Parade of Homes and every story was the same, except for when we met with Chad. He spent time getting to know us, our backgrounds, and what things were most important to us in our new home. He then made small recommendations he felt we would appreciate or hadn’t thought of to compliment our style. Chad was very open about options and every promise of quality was surpassed. He made our experience personal by staying accommodating and responsive to every request. We love the final outcome! Even after we’ve moved in, Donnay has been extremely helpful in answering questions or taking care of minor changes; nothing has been too big or too small. This has been a great experience and we hope to build another home with Donnay Homes in the future.

We wanted to thank you for all of your help with getting us into our new home. We had a long and stressful 6 month period with the sale of our old house. When we first came to you, we needed a house in a hurry because our potential buyers wanted us out. You immediately showed us our best option, a spec home that was under construction. Unlike other builders to whom we had spoke, you let us customize it to fit our style, even though it was under construction. Our situation was further complicated when we had 2 failed purchase agreements on our old home, making the purchase of a new home extremely difficult. We thank you for your willingness to work with our situation and help us to achieve the best outcome, which was getting us into the home we love and helping us to sell the house we had outgrown. Your flexibility and availability during a stressful and extremely time-consuming ordeal made the whole situation more tolerable.

We have lived in our Donnay house for two years now. We were truly impressed from the moment we stepped into the model home to the day we walked into our new home! During each step in the building or our home, Chad, Maggie and Becky were there to help us with any question- small or large. In particular, Chad Donnay has gone above and beyond in addressing any of our concerns. Even to this day he is more then willing to answer questions. The Donnay "family" made us feel part of the entire building process. We feel that the materials used to create our dream home were of high quality and craftsmanship. We would definitely build another house with Donnay, however we've decided that we like our house so much we plan on retiring here. Thank you!

“This was the very first house we saw and we fell in love with it immediately. The layout was fantastic and perfect for our family. Donnay truly designs homes with their customers’ needs in mind - the design of our home and all the little details makes our house unique and special and our lives more convenient and enjoyable.
